Crash Course cont.
On Sunday we got to check out some of the sites around Nazareth. First we got a private tour of the White Mosque which is very near our hostel. Our guide, Saleh, was incredibly hospitable and explained everything to us. He mostly spoke German, however, and it helped that we happened to go the mosque with some backpackers from Germany who we met at our hostel. Then we went on to the Church of the Annunciation--the traditional site where the angel appeared to Mary to announce Christ's birth.
A Crash Course on 1 Week in Nazareth
Most of these pictures are from Nazareth Village. We spend our days dressed in full costume while we work out on the land. For our first 2 days of work, we have been replacing a roof on one of the village's buildings. You can see that process in some of these photos. The other photos show us relaxing around the various buildings in the Village.
Team Letter for our First Week
Hello from Nazareth
We finally arrived here safely on Wednesday night after a team
testing trip to Israel. We made it safe and sound to Nazareth,
unfortunately our luggage didn't arrive at the same time, but we have
it now so all is well.
We are settling in to the city and in Nazareth Village. On
Thursday we were given a tour of Nazareth Village, and we met some of
the people we will be working with. Then on Friday we began to work.
Right now we are replacing the roof on the room in the Synagogue that
would have held the scrolls. The roof is a dirt roof, so we took all
the dirt off and now we are laying new cane down as the base of the new
roof.
We have begun to build relationships with a bunch of stand owners.
For example: Butros, Alex, Ehab, Vincent, and the list goes on. We are
praying that we will be able to speak into their lives in the short
time we are here.
Prayer Requests:
God will continue to use us in relationships.

Our relationships: Butros, Hannah, Alex, Ehab, etc.
